During this quarantine it is just our family for most of us. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Along with house chores or office work, we have our children who constantly need our help or attention. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And sometimes we aren’t the best parents that we have been or who we want to be. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I am going to share a bit from my Yoga College – what overwhelms us and what resources to use. We all have different stressors which define our day and the resources we use to ease our stress. The resources could be both internal or external. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We all have different stressors and different resources.
Now that our resources are missing our stressors are left with little to no help.
This puts our brain in the fight-flight or freeze mode (FFF mode).
With our children we put on our Fight mode or if you are like me will lock myself in a room and pretend like the responsibilities dont exist for a while.
But there is one resource which is much available for all of us while we deal with our littles. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Trust me, it changes your whole quarantine mood.
Best- independent play.
Good- Cooperative play
Least- Watch them play.
Here are some few pointers. Take what you like and use them at your disposal .
1. Throw away your normal yardstick. Quarantine is not normal. We were pushed into this without any manual. In our home we have ditched structured play altogether. Going with the flow.
