Raise your hand if you believe in good quality art supplies?
I do 😊 I believe it makes a world of a difference when we have the best materials at home.
I agree that it is quite a big number to spend on art supplies. But if you are going to spend, shouldn’t you make wise choices?
Over years of using these art supplies, I can assure you that this is list is the best.If I may say so 😉
And that these stay for a lonnnggg lonnggg time even if you and your tiny people generously use the supplies. Read: 2-3 years except for the paints.
There are more supplies that I haven’t included in the list like DOT stickers, dot markers, washi tape and rest because they are all add-ons to this list. Its good to have but we can still do without them
1.15 Paint Brushes: Can you believe that I have been using this 15 pcs set for 3 years? The quality is mind blowing for its price, Rs.245.It is an assortment of brushes in various sizes and works perfectly in all situations. Especially when you have two children at home 😊
2.Non toxic Finger paint bottles: These are like creamy buttery texture. Each pack comes for atleast 6 months for our usage. And we use this the most at home. Don’t go by the eye size. The colours are bright and subtle and compliments each other when you make a masterpiece.
3.Crayola Neon Paints – We found these when we were looking beyond the finger paint. I haven’t tried any of the neon art projects so far, but I love it for its simplicity and vibrant colors .
4.Scissors– Every child needs a child safe scissor at home. And these different patterns adds more fun to cutting work. This works best for cut and paste activities.
5.Glue- I have used many glues in the past and get frustrated when they dry off easily. But these are my favt, one is lemon scented and the other craft glue works well for all heavy art projects . Sorry not available on amazon, got these from a local craft store .
6.Washable tripod grip Markers– If no 3 and no4 works for my 5 year old, then this works best for my toddler. You know toddlers love to doodle and put in pressure on the tip while they do that. But this one has withstood all that 😊 Plus it is water washable and easy on the stains. My toddler once used it on the wall( we stay in a rented house and can’t afford wall scribbles) but it was easy to clean it up. Brownie points for that 😊
7.Camel Water color cake- I totally love this one and from the looks of it you must have known that we use it often. It works well with watercolor sheets. And I must admit, I use it often too. It is so therapeutic.
8.Camel Artistic Watercolour Tubes: It says it is artistic, but I have used this one for more than a year and I can very well tell that the end product looks great compared to the water cakes. Only my 5 year old uses it and prefers the paint tubes to the cakes. This child can tell the difference 😉
9.Crayola Twistable Crayons– These are so perfect for 3-5 year olds. Some pens have 4 colours and make writing and drawing super duper fun. If your lil one peels off the crayon papers then this is a wonderful substitute 😊
10.Crayola silly scents – Ideally this should be on the add-on list, but I tell you this is the most picked one when given a choice. The scents can be a little trick element to have the child use it, but hey the trick works and I will not complain. I prefer to use this and no.3 when I am in mood for no mess paintings.
11.Camlin poster colours- We carry this small tube when we travel. Leaves stains on clothes and least preferred unless we wear an apron or home clothes.
12.Washable Window Markers- This is a disappointing buy for me. I don’t like the light colors and it is definitely not worth its price. But it still makes on the list- why? Because both my children love to use this. Probably because, it is the only supply we let them use to scribble on the windows. But I would have it last on my list and probably skip it if you don’t entertain this idea.
Okay that is my trusted list. Have I missed any? Tell me about it in the comments 😊
