Hole books- has a literal hole in the books.
There is not much said about ‘Hole books’. Except for ‘ The very hungry caterpillar’ which seems to be 9 out of 10 children’s first book.
There are many reasons why the very hungry caterpillar is a super hit. One reason being, the holes.
As a book seller from the past, I have come across many toddler books.
But I have observed that certain books do well in the market. Like the hOle books. The unusal but amazing kinds.
Also as a mom, I have seen that my toddlers had fascination towards these books in that age.
They are adventurous and the fun element in each page makes reading interesting.
If smell books(check my previous post) work for reluctant preschool reads, the hOle books works best for toddlers who are trying to get used to reading.
I also like the ‘ Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Fly’.
Because when children start to read(like 4 or 5 years) they need interesting story lines, with simple vocabulary, shorter length and a fun element to keep them hooked to the pages.
Also my 5 year old finds it funny making him giggle all the while he reads the book.
And I love how it makes him happy.
This book, ticks off all these boxes.
I would suggest every home has one hOle book in its collection.
I would strongly recommend this if you have a reluctant reader or if you are looking for something a little different.
