Sometimes I am asked questions like
1. How are your children calm always?
2. Do your children fight ?
3. How do you maintain calm?
4. How do you manage when they misbehave? You get the drift?
Before I answer further, I want to say this.
My children are like any other children – they throw tantrums, they know well to push my buttons, they put me in most embarrassing moments, they rough house, they get frustrated at the snap of my fingers.
And I like any other parent, thrive for sanity during these moments.
And I say with pride that I am a gentle parent. The pride is because being a gentle parent did not come naturally to me and I have put in hours of work to control my anger/frustration and maintain my calm.
Most of my gentle parenting revelations has been from this book called ‘Unconditional Parenting‘ . I will talk more about it in the coming days, but today I wanted to share my favt quote from my favt book.
“Discipline is about having the right relationship with your child than having the right techniques “
