We all know how visual perception is important when it comes to reading and writing.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💚Letters like b&d, v &w are kind of similar, reflected images of each other in a way. And most children like my son might get confused between those letters.
More on Visual Discrimination here.

💚What better way to work on it through books ?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💚The aim is to focus on small details in these books.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
💚Books we read:
✔️1. Look alikes around the world – Joan Steiner : has famous places across the world . The objects are all familiar objects for children. In the Taj Mahal you can see shoes, cabbages, flute etc.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️2. One, two where’s my shoe? This brilliant book has shoes in each of its illustrations . The child has to spot the shoes from these creative illustrations.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️3. Enna mirugam Sol( Tamil) is from NBT. This tiny little book gives me a creepy feel but my 5 year old loves it to bits. He finds it funny and interesting. It is clearly a hit with him.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️4. Search by NBT again. I love this book for the interesting outlook. Also it is a self correcting book, children can check for the answers themselves from the last page.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
✔️5. Disney Pixar- look and find. You can see how both my children love this book. It has been over used 🙈. This is more like spot the 6 differences in both the images kind. Just that the clue is given on top of the pages. My son has been using it from 3 years old. He has never gotten bored of this book yet. Clearly this is a winner too.
